"Eric3":http://www.die-offenbachs.de/detlev/eric3.html is a pretty impressive looking Python IDE. It requires Qt (look "here":http://www.trolltech.com/download/qt/mac.html Mac users). For UML diagramming (then ou can use ArchGenXML to autogenerate code) "Gaphor":http://gaphor.sourceforge.net/ looks good, although it requires Gnome :(
